GAIT & BALANCE EXERCISE PROGRAM
The Gait & Balance Exercise Program is designed to produce improvements in an
individual's overall health and fitness. In addition to participating in the program
at Seven Oaks, one must understand and implement a home exercise program
and make modifications to the home and work environment as instructed. Some
of the improvements that an individual may realize by participating in the

Seven Oaks' goal is to build a better life through balance training, improved
fitness, and education. Participating in a gait and balance program may not only make you safer by preventing falls, but just as important, may make thelife you are living more enjoyable and rewarding.
At Seven Oaks we have a friendly, no stress atmosphere. The focus at Seven Oaks is building a healthy lifestyle and achieving your goals in safe and effective ways. The staff and other participants provide encouragement and support throughout the entire program. You do not need to feel self-conscious about your balance or immobility. You will walk in the door feeling comfortable about your surroundings and energetic about the new life ahead of you.
The program staff includes evaluation, training and assessments by physical therapists, and on some occasions, occupational therapists. Following a referral by your physician, a physical therapist will perform an initial evaluation and an assessment from which an initial exercise program will be personally designed for you. While you exercise, staff members will provide feedback, instruction, and encouragement that allow you to enjoy the exercise session as well as benefit from it.
